An engineering office near the Inn of the Six Flags
was meeting ground today forAproperty near
Southwest Airport and the joint Dallas-Fort worthairport board.
The owners want to know if their land
is going to be taken for the new regional airport, and
if so, when, and how much will they be paid for it.
Dallas Mayor Jonsson, as chairman of the airport board,says those are tough questions.
Twelve to 18-thousand
acres probably will be needed just north of
some of
Southwest Airport, but Jonsson says the actual boundar-
ies won't be definite until the regional airport is
almost finished. He promises, however, that landowners
affected will be paid fair market, values for their
property, and that land speculation in that area is
being discouraged.
