Montgomery Ward in Ft. Worth has found the answer to sore
feet caused by walking on the Job all day. Don't walk,..

and Ginger Petrdk do just that all day, skate on the job,
The catalog department hires who can skate
fill orders fast on- the " spacious floor.
GIRLS SKATE OFF Barbara and Ginger buzz off toward thousands of bins of
merchandise. They fill about 35 to 45 orders an hour this
way with few spills, humps or bruises. A non-skater doesn't
last long at this rate. The skaters, however, put in eight
hours a day and shed skates only for lunch or rest periods.
. Montgomery ward made a time.andmmotion study as to
efficiency...so there's no goofing off. The store knows just
how much work a good skater can do.
