Student speakers are going out each

the History department here to gath-
er true stories of early western life.
The plan as outlined Is for earh
teacher of History or Kngllsh to as-
sign to students in their departments
a term them or paper on some sub-
ject relating to local history. It may
be concerning some incident place
person Indian fight legend or any-
thing or historical significance. In
order 'that each theme may bo accur-
ate and depended upon for Its truth-
fulness a preface sheet which states
accurately where the material was ob-
tained its authenticity and reliabil-
ity will be asked to accompany each
theme which Is to bo from COO to 2000
words.
After the papers are graded and ac-
credited at the place of 'their origin
they are to he sent to this college
where they mo to be classified typed
and filed away ror future reference
work. The best papers obtained this
way will be published In the historical
publications of the College. Plans are
being made to offer either scholar-
ships or cash prizes for the best pa-
pers. Mr. Holden of the History depart-
ment here states the plan was form-
ed In order to preserve as nearly as
possible some of the history and ro-
