From the Editor
by Toni Stengele
Greetings Double Oak! I hope to see you all at the
DOVFD July 4th Parade. A lot of hard work has gone
in to it this year and it should prove to be fun.
Remember my note from last month, if you play, play
hard, but play safe.
To change the subject, our mission with the paper is
to share information about our town and our people as
well as to entertain. I need to hear more from you!
Your successes, a favorite FYI tip, (computer, house-
hold, first aid, gardening, etc.), human interest pieces.
I can't always think of them myself and we need your
input. Thank you in advance for sharing.
Here's one for you Mom's. Did you know that
insects are attracted to dark colors? When playing
outdoors, dress your kids in light colors as well as
using repellent on forearms and legs to help cut down
on bites. I just found out and it really helps.
As a parting shot, let me remind the parents it's
almost 1/2 way to school starting so ask your children
to read, do a little math, correct a story's punctuation,
etc. to help prepare them for next year. This helps cut
down on boredom, too!
One more think, the entrance to Double Oak at 407
and Cedarcrest looks great. Thank you mystery per-
son, we really appreciate it.
