Our cook this week comes to us
from Bogata and she is Mollie Roach
Williams. Mollie serves as
Administrative Officer at the
Guaranty Bank in Bogata and also
serves as vice president of the
Rivercrest ISD Board of Trustees,
currently serving her9th year. She is
married to Mike, who is co-owner of
the State Health Care Pest Control
Company.
Their children are daughter,
Mikel Haynes and husband John and
their three sons, Micah, Matthew and
Mason. Daughter, Mandy Sherrill
and her husband Greg are expecting
their first child in February. Daughter,
Marla still lives at home while she
commutes to Texas A&M at
Commerce. All are members of the
First Assembly of God Church in
Bogata.
Mol I ie recal I s some of her favorite
times and fondest memories were
Sunday dinners at her mother's
home. When church was over, all of
the family gathered there to enjoy
the feast her mom always prepared
for them. Her oldest sister, Tommie,
would arrive with her family and a
car load of delicious dishes to add to
the already full menu.
Now, Mollie is carrying on the
family tradition of Sunday dinners
for her children and grandchildren.
She has included some of the family
recipes from the "good ole days”,
along with a few of her own that her
family enjoys at their home on
Sundays.
Thanks, Mollie for sharing your
recipes with us this week and we
hope that everyone enjoys them! We
will see you in the kitchen!
Tommie Pirtle's Cheese Bread-
easy recipe for homeamde yeast
bread using powdered cheese from a
macaroini and cheese mix.
Mb's (Lore Roach) Blackberry
Cobbler-this recipe does not use a
bottom crust but strips are cut and
used in the fruit mixture as it cooks.
Ralph and Bobbie Cawley's
Homemade Chili-it will be getting
that time of year soon... .we hope!
Add this delicious-sounding dish to
your recipe files!
Fried Chicken Salad-a local
restaurant serves this on their menu
and it is very appealing to the eye as
well as delicious.
Easy Chicken Casserole-your
family will love this recipe. Just add
a salad and you have a complete
meal!
Wanda (Hale) Bradley's
Microwave Chocolate Pie-Mollie
says that this is a never-fail recipe
and each microwave has varied
temperatures, so times may vary!

This week's query is from Max
A. Lucas, 22 Locust Drive,
Elizabethtown, PA 17022-9477. He
is researching the family of his grand-
mother, Simarilla Davenport, who
was bom in Red River County on 10
December 1894. She had two broth-
ers, C. A. and O.D. (or O.G.) Daven-
port. She married Charles Newton
Nelson on 25 December 1911 and
died April 14. 1938 in Hollis. OK.
Research indicates that her parents
were J.A. and Ida (Perdue) Daven-
port, who married in Red River
County in 1890. Her mother was
known to have married a Mr.
Robinson and there is a marriage for
an Ida Davenport to W.T. Robinson
in 1900 in Red River County. An
apparent later marriage was to a Mr.
Gramlin(g). about whom nothing is
known.
If you would like to write Mr.
Davenport, please write her at the
above address.
If you have a query you would
like to have placed in this column,
please send it to the Red River
County Genealogical Society, P.O.
