dropped in favor of a new intra-
mural program.
Carrillo made the proposal at
the board’s Jaa 22 meeting and
offered seven reasons for his
proposal.
First said Carrillo, the dress-
ing rooms at the Bermuda Jaime
Junior High School were not
adequate for the number of stu-
dents participating in organized
sports.
Carrillo also said that the pro-
posal would afford an opportu-
nity for all seventh graders to take
part in sports. In addition, the
move will help with the district’s
financial situation since it will
save in travel, meals, and coaches ’
stipends.
The new policy will go into
effect at the beginning of the next
school year.
