I No body of men keep their Angers any
close/ to the public pulee than these
; shrewd agents of the great co-operat-
ive association, known as the Lloyds,
and the refusal further to accept war
risks is certainly baaed on inside In-
formation, since there are few things
so hazardous that the Lloyds will not
"take a chance."
The decision is be tiered to have beer
based on the Moroccan differences, and
partl> on the government's approval
the Declaration of London, and
partly ou the war spirit that 1* now

seems to indicate .that conAlct is In-

A SNEEZING EPIDEMIC
CONVULSES JERSEYITES
New York, Aug. 8.—An epidemic of
sneezing is prevalent among people
residing iu the vicinity of the Hacken-
sack Meadows, over In Jersey. It Is
not a case of universal hay fever or
la grippe, but is due tT> the fact that
a ton *»f pepper has been buried In
rhgt vicinity.
The pep|>er was seized at the ware-
house of a Jersey City wholesale gro-
cery concern, on the “ground" that
it was adulterated, and the pure fobd
experts of Dr. Wiley .staff ordered If
safely disposed of. It was decided to
bury the stuff, but d<*pite the adulter-
ation the odor of pepper is so strong
as to lead to a chorus of "kerehoos”
from everybody Tn the vicinity.
