$25,000 issue of bridge bonds.
They are uot certain yet whether i
the state will buy the bonds a*
the court wae recently notified
that the treasury was bare of
money that £ould be expended
for bonds, but they were also
notified that more money
expected shortly. If it is impos-
sible to place the bonds with the
state school funds they will be
disposed of to private parties.
There is usually a good market
for Texas bonds, whether county
or city, and as the Lavaca
county issue is first class in every
respect there should be little
trouble in disposing of them. It
is to be hoped that Messrs.
Thrift and Paulus will have no
trouble with their mission as our
county is badly in need of the
bridges for which the issue was
voted, for. Anyhow if there
is a chance to place them,
are the men to do it as both
shrewd ahd capable business
men.
