1A Davis-Bell M Floyd They are in the Boling Field
Genesis Petroleum Corp of Corpus Christi has revealed plans to
drill an 11,000-ft. wildcat 10 miles south of the Matagorda townsite
The well will be located in a 1,440-acre drilling unit and will be
known as the No 2 State Tract 406-L
The No 1 State Lease 85373 has been written off as a dry hole by
Kerr McGee Corp at an offshore drillsite 24.7 miles southwest of
Freeport The Matagorda County explorer was spudded last May 16
and bottomed dry at 1,100 feet
R H Engelke, independent from San Antonio, has staked drillsite
for the No. 1 Norris Unit five miles north of Bay City. The well will
be spudded in a 40-acre drilling unit in the I&GNRR Survey, pro
jected total depth is 9,800 feet
A seven-year-old natural gas producer is being plugged and
abandoned in Matagorda County’s Matagorda Bay Southeast Field
15 miles south-southwest of Palacios.
The well is the No 1 State Tract 170, spudded in July of 1975 and
labeled dry April 21. 1982. Total depth was 6,000 feet in Matagorda
Bay
Roy R Gardner of Houston has filed first production figures on a

make 321,000 CF of gas per day on a 14/64 choke Absolute open flow

County’s R W Chappell Survey, four miles north of Sheridan

The location is in a 1,472-acre lease in the James Cummins
Survey. Bottomed at 10,500 feet, the well will produce from perfora
tions 8,648 to 8,658 feet into the hole
Plub-and-abandon orders have been issued for the No 3 Sheridan
Gas Unit, a developmental venture of Shell Oil Company in the
Sheridan Field Spudded October 3, 1940, the well had reached
10.251 feet total depth Drillsite was 4'2 miles east-southeast of
Sheridan
