. THE DIVORCE EVIL
(Continued from page 1)
If womeil would confine their ef-
forts toward political equality to
striking out this horror that menaces
home life, they would do more than
can ever be done through suffrage,
which will not elevate man, but only
cheapen themselves.
Resting as far apart as the’poles
are the popular requirements of the
lady and the gentleman, and who is
to blame? You and I and the world
at large! When we produce a higher
standard for man to reach when we
cease to grant him the “name and
the game,” he will find it worth his
efforts to aim for higher ideals and
will reach them. .
It is inherently a human charac-
teristic to wish to merit confidence,
to meet the high conceptions others
.have of us and though this may sound
like a dream of an idealiat, and we
shall find that man is willing to do
anything for the two, factors which
mean most to him—home and love.
In following and abetting the pre-
vailing styles of bodily exposure, wo-
men are playing directly and fool-
ishly into the hands of the demon who
is merrily turning the wheel? of the
divorce mills.

brings back the normal state of
health through its effect on the sp-
petite and nutrition of the body. J.
