J, C. Blohm'
Foreman of Grand Jury.
Hon. Tkos. Ball, of Houston,
has announced that he will not
be a candidate for the t United
States senate to succeed J. W.
Bailey. Mr. Ball tersely gives
his reason for withdrawing from
the race before it had fairly be-
gun as an unwillingness to face
the criticism which is being di-
rected against him. The with-
drawal of Mr. Ball places an en-
tirely new aspect upon the sena-
torial campaign-to-be, and those
who were formerly prone to
speculate upon the possible out-
come of the race, are given an
opportunity to make new calcu-
lation^. Taking it for granted
that Mr. Randell is hardly a
factor to be reckoned with, and
eliminating entirely the ambition
of “Railroad” Smith and one
or two other lesser lights, *the
race would resolve itself as be-
ing between Hon. Jake Wolters
and Hon. Morris Sheppard.

In this connection we make the
following recommendations: that
if the financial condition of the
] county permits erf it that^the jail
building should' be enlarged in
order to provide more room for
the Jailor’s use on the lower
floor and that new and larger
cages be placed on thb upper
floor to provide more room as the
cages now in use upon said up-
per floor are too small and do
not provide for the safe confine-
ment of the .prisoners who havte
to be confined in the building.
We find that the following offi-

confined as comfortably cared for

'Many things go to prove that

PEP-SENNA produces remarkable re-
sults for kidney liver and biadder
sufferers.
If you are run down, do not fail to
make a request to the Woodworth la-
boratory 1161 Broadway, New York,for
a sample of Pep-Senna, the great kid-
ney, liver and bladder remedy, which
is curing thousands. The well known
saying that “delays are dangerous” ap-
plies more fully to the kidney, liver and
bladder diseases than to anything else.
Diseases of the kidney, liver and blad-
der will strfnd no trifling, because there
is no disease so deceptive, and nothing
more fatal.
Look backward and recall to memory
the many sufferers, and others who have
tad during the past year. Have you
ever stopped to think how many of them
could have * been made well and happy
