dollar in a man’s pocket as saying
ra him: “If you will let me stay
in this town, I’ll circulate around
and do lots of good. You buy a
ug beef stake with me, and the
butcher will buy groceries, and the
grocer will buy drygoods, and the
rygood merchant will pay his doc-
tor with me, and the doctor will

for his horse, and the farmer will

i! the construction of high-
is to insist that the work is
d out under the direction of

instructed is money wasted,
if the new highway is prop-
aid down, the foundation

it will last much longer
ie repair bills when they do
will be much smaller. One
pal thing is drainage. Stand-
ater on a road will eat away

can possibly do, while if the
is so made that it will be
v drained when the rains
it will always be passable,

be a good one- Let’s have some
more built on other streets. We
can’t have too many.
Quite a little excitement w as cre-
ated Tuesday morning when Bob,
the wild cat owned by Mason
Maney got loose. Chickens be-
came conspicious by their absence
and after some little argument
and lots of advice from the crowd
Mr. Maney succeeded in getting
him into captivity once more.
Mr. Ilutfor, as reader, showed
unusual versatility, for he repre

CALOMEL MUST
HURT YOUR LIVER.
Entry Time You Take This Powerful
Drug You Ari in Danger. Take
Dodson*s Liver Tone Instead.
Calomel is made from mercury,
and while mercury has many uses,
it is a dangerous thing to swallow.
If calomel stays in the system very
long it salivates. Even when it
works naturally, its after-effects
are often bad.
H. A.Mercer Drug Co.has a liv-
er medicine called Dodson4s Liver
Tone which is positively guaran-
teed to take the place of calomel.
It stimulates the liver just enough
to start it working, and does not
make you sicker than ever-as cal-
omel often does. Dodson Liver
Tone won’t force you to stop eat-
ing or working after taking it. It
is as beneficial for children as for
adults.
Try a bottle to-day under the
H. A. Mercer Drug Co. guarantee.
You know this store is reliabe.

If the lumber had
been stronger those
men would have
lived longer! It is
an admitted fact
that the best lum-
ber lasts longer and
that it’s purchase
pays in the long
run, It’s the kind
we sell!
J. W. HARRIS & co.
We acknowledge, with thanks
the sack of peaches and plums sent

the student body of S. U. of
Georgetown, was rendered as per
advertisement in last week’s Ban-
ner, on Monday night. The en-
tire performance was well receiv-
ed and was greeted by a full house.
The quartette evidenced a
thourough training and showed
considerable native talent, contriv-
ing to touch the entire scale of
human emotion, from the sublime
to the ridiculous.—Bertram Ban-
ner. At School Auditorium, bene-
