First Sea Vessel to Enter The
Pass.
Corpus Ghfisti, Tex., March 15
—Captain E. 0. Larssen- of the
oil steamer Northwestern and R.
C. Butler, marine agent of the
Texas Company, arrived in this
city tonight from Port Aransas in
a launch, coming to make entry
with the customs officials for the
oil steamer, which arrived in
port at Port Aransas at 9:30
o’clock this morning. The North-
western is of the Texas Com-
pany oil line and brought to port
400,000 gallons of crude oil from
Tampico, Mexico, having first
touched at Galveston and dis-^
charged part of her cargo. The
steamer drew seventeen feet of
water and is the first seagoing
vessel to enter the pass at Port
Aransas. This event marks the
