Social Security
Representative To
Be Here Dec. 10
Elliott W. Adams, Social Se-
curity Administration Represen-
tative, will be in this city at the
U. S. Post Office at 4:00 p.m.
on Wednesday, December 10,
1947, far the purpose of answer-
ing any questions on Social Se-
curity; discussing possible bene-
fits and taking claims from
persons who seem to be entitled
to benefits; and taking appli-
cations for Social Security ac-
count number cards.
Some employees who have
moved and who have lost their
social security account number
card seem to think it is com-
pulsory to secure a duplicate
card from the office where they
secured the original. The facts
are that any field office of the
Social Security Administration
will be glad to accept an appli-
cation for a duplicate and
thereby save the applicant time
and expense in wiring or writ-
ing back to the office where the
original was issued. The near-
est office of the Social Security
Administration is at Lubbock,
Texas.
Martha Hobson, who is teach-
ing school in Clovis, New Mexi-
co^ visited with her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. B F. Hobson here dur-
ing the holidays.
