Doris Carroll Becomes
Mrs. Gone Long
In Feb. 14 Ceremony
In a double ring ceremony Sat-
urday night, Feb. 14, at 7 p. m.
at the Fruitvale Baptist Church,
Miaa Doris Carroll became the
bride of Gene Long. Rev. Herschell
Williams, pastor, read the mar-
riage vows.
Attending the bride as maid of
honor was Miss Fay Swain. Doug
Long, brother of the groom, serv-
ed as best man.
Parents of the couple are Mr.
and Mrs. Edgar Carroll of Fruit-
vale and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Long
of Grand Saline.
Given in marriage by her broth-
er, Pvt. Herbert Carroll of iFort
(Hood, the bride wore a white satin
full-length gown with fitted bodice
which formed a point in front
a lace yoke with a scalloped out-i
lias and tiny round collar. The
ling, fitted sleeves tapered to a
point over her wrists. Her finger-
tip veil of illusion was held in
place by a halo of ruffled illusion
which also formed a point. Bhe
carried a bouquet of white carna-
tions and satin ribbon surround-
ing a white orchid centered in a
lace handkerchief which had been
in 58 weddings.
The maidi of honor was dressed
in a pastel yellow ballerina-length
dress. iHfer bouquet was of yellow
tulips and King Alfred daffodils.
The traditional wedding music
was. furnished by Mrs. Eddie El-
liott. Misa Ann Hill sang “Always”
accompanied by Miss Pat Rains
at the piano.
.Ushers were Willie Ralph Car-
roll, Billy Elliott, and Billy Dan-
iels.
After the ceremony a recaption
was held at the home of tha
SAM TERRY, SR.
groom'a parents in Grand Saline.
Wedding cake, topped with a min-
iature bride and groom, and punch
•were sSrved to the guests.
The bride is a graduate of the
Grand Saline High School and haa
been employed by Southwestern
Bell Telephone Co. in Fort Worth
as a special accounts dark.
The groom is also a graduate of
the local high school and is at-
tending Tyler Commercial College
where he is studying radio and
television.
Mr. and Mrs. Long are making
their home at 609* North Bois
D’arc, in Tyler.
