Houston Buffs Opened
Their Home Schedule
Wednesday Night
Fun for the Whole Family
Manager Eddie Dyer's Houston
Buffs opened their home schedule
beginning Wednesday night, April
16, facing the Beaumont Exporters
Wednesday and Thursday.
The San Antonio Missions will
play the Houston Buffs in Houston
April 18. 19 and 20.
The Buffs, with a well balanced
club, loom as the number one con-
tender for top honors in 1941. Man-
ager Dyer has a seasoned infield,
good defensive outfield play, some
very promising hurlers, and a fair
amount of power at the plate.
Opening night ceremonies at Buff
Stadium were handled by the Buff
Booster Committee and the Cham-
ber of Commerce Athletic Com-
mittee.

Father Praised by Judge
For Punching His Son
CINCINNATI.—“Who did this?”
inquired the court, when Walter
Schueler, 48, ws arraigned before
Judge Clarence E. Spraul, his head
covered with bandages.
“I did,” proudly declared the 79-
year-old father of the defendant, Ed-
ward Schueler. ”He came home
drunk and started wrecking the fur-
niture.”
“He didn't do it with his fists,”
said the son. “He hit me with a
piece of iron pipe.”
"That’s good," was Judge Spraul'*
comment. "Get your clothes and
stay away from your father’s home.
It'a the workhouse If you molest him
again.”
Fickle Dog Upsets the
Dignity of This Court
NEW YORK.—Jacob Solomon and
Irving Zimmerman went before
Magistrate Joseph Flynn to prove
the disputed ownership of a dog.
"Here Rudy!” said Solomon. The
animal tore across the court room
and licked Solomon's face.
"Here Captain!” shouted Zim-
merman. Similar doings.
"Hey you!” the judge said from
the bench. The pup bounded right
up and licked his face.
•T give up,” said Magistrate
Flynn. “Case dismissed.”

all about a card he carried explain
lng that he waa a muta and began
to talk fluently.
His story led to the arrest at three
