WBeutive Committee to meet at
Mineral Well#, Saturday, March,
29, 1992, and it is hoped that they
will order a primary election from
Governor down. Cognressmen
and representatives should at
least be submitted to a primary
election, and let the democrats,
under a g-ood strong test,, vote
for their choice. It will make the
ticket stronger and give more
general satisfaction to the dem-
ocratic voters. So far as wo are
concerned we prefer that the in-
dorsement be had that way. If
the democrats prefer some one
else besides ourself k> represent
them, we have not a word to say,
but we want a fair deal and
no Jim Crow Convention.

-The decision of the Texas su-
preme court in the Masterson
case, in which the state quaran-
tine law was held to be void tinder
the laws, is of jno importance only
in.so far as it compels the main-
tainence of a line identical with
that established by the United
States department of agriculture.
The right of the State sanitary
board to maintain such a line and
to enforce such regulations in re-
gard to crossing as may be deem-
ed necessary is not affected.
The only point is that there must
be no deviation from the national
quarantine line.
