It won’t be any trick at all for
the farmer to hold his next year’s
cotton crop for top prices, should
that course be desirable, if lie
will diversify, put a little inten-
sity into his farming and go in
cahoots with a few cows, hogs
and hens.—Paris Advacate.
It has been no trick at all this
year foi the man who has diver-
sified his crops to hold his cotton.
For instance, take the fruit, berry,
truck, alfalfa, hog. chicken and
other crops, which has been raised
and sold. The man who raised
them have the money in their
pockets. Why. if they think that
cotton will bring a better price,
should they not hold it without
distressing themselves? These
people are not in debt. Their
smuke houses and corn cribs are
tilled* They can wait with >t
any fears. Diversification is &
thing that will enhance the price
of cotton as nothing else will.
Diversification is practiced in
Texas now, and the policy is be-
coming more popular every day.
If the money stringency, which %
has existed for the last two
months in the country, had exist-
ed in Texas fifteen years ago there
would not have been one bale of
cotton held for higher prices
where there is a hundred today.
For then the farmers had to sell,
whatever the price offered. To-
day that diversification of crops
which has given the farmers mon-
ey and has Kept them out of debt
enables them t“ hold.—Dalljas
News.
If there is any one thing the
Review would impress upon the
people of Delta county it i> the
necessity of diversifying. We
would have the -fars*?**- -tbk
county write in boxcar letters
where they can see it every day
until spring the word, “diversify.”
