Theft at supermarket
thwarted Wednesday
A man loaded several cartons of cigarettes into a shopping cart
with the intention of stealing them from a supermarket at about 7
a.m. Wednesday in the
POLICE BEAT
1700 block of North
Alexander.
The man took the cart
with its contents out of the store without paying. He was caught
and charged with felony theft of items valued at more" than
$2,000.
Police investigating reported assault
A 33-year-old woman reportedly was sexually assaulted at
about 4 p.m. Wednesday at an address on California Street.
Man resists arrest on Decker
A 27-year-old Baytown man was arrested at about, 10 p.m.
Wednesday for resisting arrest and disorderly conduct,
abusive/vulgar language. The offenses took place in the 3100
block of Decker Drive.
Bond was set at $25,000 for the resisting arrest charge, but was
language, his bond w3s set at $220.
Man steals perfume; escapes in car
A man allegedly stole perfume from a local mall department
store at abput 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, and afterwards, escaped by
jumping into die window of a car and speeding away.
Tools stolen from pickup
Police responded to a report that hand power tools were stolen
between 5 and 11 p.m. Tuesday from the bed of a pickup in the
2000 block of Vermont Street. The tools were valued at $505.
Woman turns herself in
A 19-year-old Pasadena woman who turned herself in on
Baytown Municipal Court warrants, is now trying to bond herself
out of jail, a police report states. Her bond totals $610 for two
warrants.

On Wednesday, Baytown Police investigated nine alarms, two
assaults, one auto theft, three burglaries, four cases of criminal
mischief, 10 disturbances, one sexual assault, seven thefts .and
five minor accidents.
