Funeral services for Dianna
Gilbert, 16, of Baytown will be
held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7,
1995, at Baytown United Sev-
enth Day Adventist Church,
4101 Nazro with Pastor Terrell
McCoy officiating.
Diana died Monday, Oct. 2.
She had lived in Baytown for
the past 11 years.
She was a member of the Sev-
enth Day Adventist Church and
a student at Robert E. Lee High
School where she was a mem-
ber of the girls varsity soccer
team. She was also an honor
roll student at REL and she
worked at Captain D’s.
She is survived by her mother,
Elizabeth Gilbert of Baytown;
father, Ruben Gilbert of Long
Beach, Calif.; stepfather, Joseph
George of Baytown; brothers,
Bryan Gilbert of Seattle, Wash.,
and Peter Gilbert of St. Lucia,
W.I.; sisters, Judy Gilbert of
Baytown and Judith Gilbert of
Fort Lee, W.V
She is also survived by many
aunts and uncles, cousins and
nephews and her grandmother.
Pallbearers will be Chris
Roberts, Tony Johnson, Wayne
St. Croix, Kirk Doussa, Clifn-
son Fanus and Nigel Claxton.
Honorary pallbearers will be
Bryan Gilbert, Greg Atkins and
Allen St. Brice.
A wake will be held from 7-9
p.m. Friday, Oct. 6, at Frazier
Funeral Home.
Burial will be held at White
Chapel Cemetery in Highlands
following services.
Arrangements are under the
direction of Frazier Funeral
Home.

HOLLAWAY
Funeral services for William
Dennis Hollaway, 82, of
Fredricksburg, formerly of Bay-
town, will be held at 2 p.m. Fri-
day, Oct. 6, 1995, at Cedar
Bayou Baptist Church in Bay-
town with the Rev. J. L. Holl-
away officiating.
Hollaway died Wednesday,
Oct. 4, in a Hill Country hospi-
tal.
While living in Baytown, he
attended Robert E. Lee High
School and owned and operated
Hollaway Food Markets from
1936-1969. He served on the
city council and was a member
of the Cedar Bayou Baptist
Church.
After retirement in 1972, he
moved to the Broaddus and
Chireno area where he lived
until moving to Fredericksburg
in 1989.
He was a member of the First
Baptist Church in Fredericks-
burg.
He was preceded in death by
his first wife, Pauline Conner
Hollaway in 1953 and son,
William Travis Hollaway.
He is survived by his wife,
Wynelle Barnett Hollaway of
Fredericksburg; children, Don
and Sue Hollaway of Baytown,
Betty and Wayne Martin of
Weatherford, Connie Porter of
Arkansas, Annette and Bill
Elliott of Dallas, John W. “Bill”
and Carol Holloway of Bay-
town; 10 grandchildren; seven
great-grandchildren; brothers
and sisters, M.E. Hollaway of
Fredricksburg, Inez and Ray-
mond Barclay of Fredericks-
burg, Dorothy and Gene Litton
of Fredericksburg; the Rev. J.L.
and Doris Hollaway of
Stonewall.
The body will lie in state
from noon until 2 p.m. Friday,
Oct. 6 at Cedar Bayou Baptist
Church in Baytown.
In lieu of usual remem-
brances, for those desiring,
memorial contributions may be
made in his memory to the First
Baptist Church Building Fund
or to the charity of one’s choice.
Interment will be held at
Cedarcrest Cemetery in Cedar
Bayou following services.

Bowen Evins, 60, of Barrett
Station will be held at 10 a.m.
Saturday, Oct. 7, 1995, at Wash-
ington Chapel Missionary Bap-
tist Church with the Rev. Earl
Alexander Sr. officiating.
Ms. Evins died Friday, Sept.
29, at her home.
She had been a 23-year resi-
dent of Barrett Station and was
of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her son,
Wilbert Evins Jr.; brother, Allen
Bowen Jr.; and sisters, Walter-
ine Pace, Beatrice Young Jones
and JoAnn Bowen Lomax.
She is also survived by a spe-
cial friend, Robert L. Barrett,
and a host of nieces, nephews,
stepsons, stepdaughters and
other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Lonnie
Henderson, James Henderson,
Bobby Bowen and the Rev.
Woodro Barrett.
Honorary pallbearers will be
Alvin Young, Melvin R. Lomax,
Freddie Lomax and Fred C.
Lomax.
A wake will be held from 7-9
p.m. Friday, Oct. 6, at Frazier
Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will be held at Piney-
wood Cemetery in Richards fol-
lowing services.
Arrangements are under the
direction of Frazier Funeral
Home.

high schools for Oct. 23, 25 and
26.
Testing will begin at 7:30 a.m. at
the respective campuses.

Monday, Oct. 23; mathematics on
Wednesday, Oct. 25; and reading
on Thursday, Oct. 26.
All students who were enrolled
in grades 10,11 or 12 in the spring
of 1995 are eligible to take any
section of the exit-level TAAS on
which they have not yet met mini-
mum expectations.

Mrs. Sherman died Tuesday,
Oct. 3, in Baytown.
She had been a resident of
Barrett Station for 42 years and
