No that's just a superstition fostered by the comic
strips. And the idea that advertising in college pu-
blications is more of a "donation" than an invest
ment is a sUperstitution fostered by business men
who have not studied' the matter a superstition
which a number of college publication advertisers
have cdme to disregard.
As a matter of fact college publications re-
ceive a greater amount of reading than any other
publication. Everything in a callege publication
is of interest to the collegiate reader; a contrast to
the sport jjover who reads the sport sheet the broker
who glances ati the stock columns and the house-
wife who reads the 'Woman's page in the dailies.
The advertiser cannot afford to place his advertise-
ment in each section and therefore loses a large
part of the circulation he believes he. is buying. Ev-
ve'ry page is pf equal interest to the collegian eager
to read the happenings -of his college during the
week. ' . .
Collefge newspapers advertising' brings your
advertisement before a choice group of readers in
that there can be .a 4rwn line. ' It would be un-
wise' for advertisements to be run in such a' publica-
tion concerning home life when the same concern
sold articles whfch could be used'in the student's
room. There w no guesswork either theaHvertise-
ment will or will not appeal to the college reader.
Your advertisements will reach the spot in The
Yellow Jacket student weekly of Howard Payne'
Coflefe' whose' circulation is novv past jthe 750
mark going to every student 'n the institution to
every instructor to alumni and numerous families

The Farm Electrical
Of the six and a half million farm homes in this
country only half a million have electricity.
Still the advantages of electricity are widely known.
But there is more to farm electrification than the
installation of motors lights and heaters. Current
must be brought to the farm and that means many
miles of transmission line supporting poles trans-
formers and adequate generating equipment.
Slowly but surely the electrification of American
farms is taking place. As fanners learn how to use
electricity rural service lines reach out farther and
farther into open country.
Six million Farms to be electrified I Here is a vast
and virgin field for the application of electricity
with countless opportunities for college-trained
men in the technical and commercial phases of this
undertaking. And for the agricultural college
student and others 'planning a future life in rural
sections it means a better bigger happier lifetime
now in uie masmg. v.
