Epsilon Psi chapter to hold annual auction

Epsilon Psi chapter of The
Delta Kappa Gamma Society
International will hold its annual
auction on Thursday, February 25,
at 6:30 p.m. at the Baytown His-
torical Museum, 220 West Defee
Avenue. ,
Auction proceeds are used for
scholarships, grant-in-aid funds
and other special activities of the
chapter, including community ser-
vice commitments.
President Carmel Norton will
conduct a brief business meeting
before the evening’s activities
begin with Judi Mitchell, chair-
man in charge of the auction.
Committee members assisting
Mitchell are JuDee Hancock, Bil-
lie Hinton, Jackie Jenson, Laura
Kellner, Janet Richards, Ruth
Richards, Ann Thompson and
Billie Thompson.
Other committee chairmen
helping in the evening’s activities
are Joyce Cloudt, music; JuDee
Hancock, professional affairs,
Suzi Powers, research; and Janet
Richards, personal growth and
services.
Brenda Stone is chairman of the
Hostess Committee for the meet-
ing. Others on the committee are
Dana Albright, Jackie Jenson,
Wanda Mitchell, Suzi Powers,
Elaine Russell and Kathryn
Wright.
Janet Richards, chairman of
Personal Growth and Services,
reminds all members to bring per-
sonal hygiene items for the “Each
One Reach One” project, for
donation to the Bay Area
Women’s Center.

Lions toast valentines
Seventy members of the Bay-
town Lions Club toasted their
Valentines at the Annual Sweet-
heart Banquet recently at the
Monument Inn and recognized
members of long standing.
Chevron pins for 15 years of
membership were presented to
Dick Dawson, Lee Prigmore and
Vernon Hayes. A Chevron rec-
ognizing 20 years of member-
ship was presented to Gary
Ratliff.
A Monarch Membership Cer-
tificate, to be presented at a later
time, will honor Max Altman, a
member for 65 years of the Bay-
town organization, which was
chartered in 1928.
New members installed were
Dwayne Litteer, a process man-
ager in research and develop-
ment with Exxon Chemical;
Maggie Hinojosa, DARE officer
with the Baytown Police Depart-
ment; Janie Halter, account exec-
utive with the Baytown Sun; and
Brent Watson of the city’s
Department of Health.

Alice Kathleen Zlomke
Grossheim, 46, of Mont Belvieu
died Monday, February 22, 19’99,
at M.D. Anderson in Houston after
a lengthy illness.
Bom Oct. 24, 1952, in Dayton,
she had been a lifelong resident of
the area.
She graduated from Barbers Hill
High School in 1971 and was a
member of the First United
Methodist Church of Mont
Belvieu.
A loving mother and housewife,
Kathy is survived by her husband,
Kelly Grossheim of Mont Belvieu;
sons, Randall “Scooter” Badgett Jr.
of South Houston and James Bad-
gett of Baytown; granddaughter,
Sierra Lynn Dill of South Bend,
Ind.; parents, Vaudine and Johnny
Zlomke Sr. of Old River; mother-
in-law and father-in-law, Beverly
and Melvin Grossheim of Toledo,
Ohio; brother, Johnny Zlomke Jr.

Gary Wade Clanton, Paul Flower
and Milton Tilton.

Patricia Faye Mitchell Wood, 53,
of Conroe, died Monday, February
22,1999, in Baytown.
She was born Oct. 3, 1945, in
Houston.
She was preceeded in death by
her mother, Gladys Mitchell; sister,
Karen Denise Boring; and her chil-
dren, Hugh Baldridge III and Lisa
Diane Baldridge.
She is survived be her father,
Jack Mitchell Sr.; brothers, Jack
Mitchell Jr. and Larry Wayne
Mitchell; special friend, Carol
Greathouse; and many loving
nieces, nephews, relatives and car-
ing friends.
The family will receive friends
from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Conroe
Funeral Directors chapel.
Services will be at 10 a.m.
Thursday at the chapel with the
Rev. T.H. Harding officiating.
Interment will follow at White
Cemetery in Highlands.
