Wyatt marries Hesse in candlelight ceremony

double ring candlelight ceremony
on June 17, 2000, at First Baptist
Church of Highlands with Rev.
Tim Edwards officiating.
Parents of the groom are Dean
and Martha Hesse of Canton, Tx.
The bride’s fUtents are Robert
and Glenda Wyatt of Highlands
and grandmother, Elizabeth
Wyatt also of Highlands. The
couple chose to be married on the
anniversary of the bride’s grand-
parents, Charles E. and Elizabeth
Wyatt and her great-grandpar-
ents, Charles Henry and Sarah
Elizabeth Wyatt.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride wore a floor-
length gown of white bridal satin,
which featured a lace-edged
sweetheart neckline and off-the-
shoulder sleeves trimmed with
beaded lace and accented with a
satin bow. Pearls and iridescent
sequins accented the fitted bodice
and the back waistline featured a
tiered bustle-like overlay of lace
and satin ruffles and a cathedral-
length train. Her fingertip length
veil of bridal illusion extended
from a headpiece of iridescent
pearls. The bride’s cascading bou-
quet consisted of white calla lilies
and white orchids. She wore a
ring given to her by her maternal
grandmother, the late Willie Mae
Rodgers of Highlands.
Attending the bride as maid of
honor was her college roommate,
Eva Bower of Harlingen. Brides-
maids were Tracy Pirtle of Tyler
and Donna Wyatt of Prairie Lea,
sister-in-law of the bride. The
bride’s attendants were attired in
floor-length dresses of black,
which featured a wide band of
white lace at the waistline, a
square neckline, and short
sleeves. They carried lighted can-
dles adorned with white and
black ribbons and iridescent
pearls.
Best man was Chris Roberts of
Lewisville, Tx. Groomsmen were
brothers of the groom, Michael
Hesse of Pensacola, FI. and David
Hollimon, brother-in-law of the
bride.
Vocalists were the bride’s sister
and brother, Robyn Hollimon of
Burleson and Chuck Wyatt of
Prairie Lea. Pianist was Priscilla
Parrish of Richardson, cousin of
the bride. Selections included
“The Lord’s Prayer,” “Somewhere
in the World,” and “From This
Moment.”
A reception followed the cere-
mony in the church’s family life
center. The house party included
Diane Hesse of Mart, sister-in-
law of the groom; Lanie Hesse of
Mart, niece of the groom; Sheri
Barrett and Karleen Draper of
Tyler; Kathleen Boddie of Hous-
ton; and Joy Crow and Jeanna
Jenkins of Baytown. Providing
entertainment at the reception
was a handbell group from First
Baptist Church of Baytown,
directed by Bill Ingram. Members
of the group were five cousins,
David and Joey Taylor, Michael
and Stephen Pace, and Jeffrey
Gordon.
The bride is a graduate of Ross
Mrs. Charies Steven Hesse
Hesse of Mart, Tx. Ushers were Wes Wyatt of College Station,
Chuck Wyatt of Prairie Lea and brothers of the bride, and Scott
S. Sterling High School, Bay-
town, and Stephen F. Austin State
University. She received a B.A.
Degree in Criminal Justice and is
employed by the law firm of Wil-
son, Sheehy, Knowles, Robertson
and Cornelius as a legal assistant.
The groom is a graduate of Mt.
Pleasant High School, Mt. Pleas-
ant, Tx. and the University of
Texas at Tyler. He received a B.S.
Degree in Industrial Engineering
and is employed by American
Homepatient as a medical equip-
ment technician. The couple hon-
eymooned in Catalina Island,
Calif, and now reside in Tyler.
A miscellaneous bridal shower,
hosted by friends, was held on
May 2, 2000 at the Women’s
Building in Tyler.
On June 4, 2000 a bridal show-
er was held at First Baptist
Church of Highlands. Hostesses
were Nancy Stewart, Carolyn
Barnett, Faylene Boddie, Sue
Campbell, Karen Collins, Joy
Crow, Ruth Gard, Charlene Hop-
per, Sylvia Ingram, Jennie Rob-
bins and Ruth Ann Taylor.
Lane weds Johnson in double-ring ceremony

Church of Christ in Baytown
with Bro. Robert Ward officiat-
ing.
Parents of the couple are James
and Ricki Lane of Baytown, and
Robert and Ann Johnson of Bay-
town.
The bride chose a gown of
sheer elegance with tiny flowers
with pearls all over and the veil
covered in pearls and finished
with satin.
Attending the bride was
Amanda Young a close friend of
Baytown. Bridesmaids were
Stephanie Kay, Allison Russell
and Robin Johnson, sister of the
groom. The best man was Ryan
Johnson, brother of the groom of
Baytown.
The groomsmen were Brad
Livingston of Tennessee, Jeremy
Vass and Jeflfey Lane, brother of
the bride.
Junior bridesmaids were
Courtney Prothro, Jessica Holt
and Kody Veteto, and the junior
groomsmen were Ashton Bosse
and Ben Vasquez. Ushers were
the groomsmen.
A reception was held at Mis-
souri St. Church of Christ. Fol-
lowing a wedding trip to Lost
Maples National Park and San
Antonio the couple will live in
the Baytown area.
The bride is a graduate, of Deer
Park High School and is
employed by Dr. Alton Prihoda
as an aid to the receptionist and
of the billing department. _
The groom is a graduate of
Dayton High School and is
employed by System Net Corpo-
ration as a Technician.

Harrisons celebrate 50th anniversary
Curtis and Betty Harrison celebrated their 50th wedding anniver-
sary on September 1, 2000. They were married on September 1,
1950 at Memorial Baptist Church of Baytown, Tx., by the Rev. A.L.
Jordan. Their children include Barbara Harrison of Canyon Lake, Tx.
and Carla and Glenn Landry of Florrissant, Colo. Curtis retired from
Pipe Fitters Local Union #211 after 25 years and then opened his
own business Able Painting. Betty retired from Citizens Bank &
Trust after 35 years.

Miss VhnesSS Lynn Durst's engagement to Joseph Edward Brookhouse II
is announced by her parents, Keith and Alice Durst of Baytown. Brook-
house is the son of Mike and Joy Brookhouse of Portland, Ore. A Septem-
ber 23,2000 wedding is planned at The Oaks Pioneer Church, Portland.
The bride-elect is a graduate from Sam Houston State University,
Huntsville and is employed by Parametric Portfolio Associates, Seattle,
Wash, as an account manager. Brookhouse attended Portland State,
Portland and is employed by Washington Mutual, Seattle, as a project
consultant.

Jenifer Justine Marshall and Donald Shannon Dickens would like to
announce their engagement. An October 14, 2000 wedding is
planned at First Baptist Church Highlands, the bride-elect is a gradu-
ate of Ross S. Sterling High School and Lee College of Baytown. She
is currently employed at E.I. DuPont de Nemours & Co., Bayport Plant
as an Instrument Technician. Dickens is a graduate of Ross S. Ster-
ling High School and attended Texas A & M University. He is currently
employed by Emco at Exxon/Mobil, Baytown as a Computer Adminis-
ter.

Miss Rosie Ann Queraies' engagement to Adrian Chad Fuentes is
announced by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Virgilio A. Queraies of Hous-

Church, Baytown.
