Homecoming at
Bagwell Sunday
Approximately 300 people
attended the homecoming at
the Bagwell Community Center
Sunday. Gifts were given to the
oldest lady attending, Mrs.
Roxie McCoy, and the oldest
man. Ben Taylor. Mrs. Clyde
Henery also received a gift for
her many years of teaching in
Bagwell. The Mason Denton
family of Cleaveland. Miss,
received the gift for traveling
the greatest distance to the
homecoming.

Two Parks and Wildlife
Department management areas
will be open to public dove
hunting September 1 with no
restrictions on the number of
hunters allowed on the areas.
The 28,183-acre Matador
Area northwest of Paducah is
offering dove hunting Sept.
1-23 on a first-come, first-serv-
ed basis. To help defray the
cost of the hunt, a $1 fee will be
charged each hunter for every
day hunted.
For those who can't
manage the dollar fee, hunting
on the Pat Mayse Area near
Paris is free.
Hunt dates on the Mayse
Area are Sept. 1 - Oct. 14, 1973,
and-Jan. 5-20, 1974.

The new Controlled Sub-
stance act classifies Valium as
an illegal drug to posses*
without the prescription of a
doctor, and violation can carry
a maximum penalty of $1,000 or
1 year in the county jail or both.
They were tried before
County Judge Gavin Watson
Jr. and fined $147.30 and are
currently being held in the
county jail in lieu of fines.
