employment of teachers for the
1973-74 school year. Twenty
two contracts were approved
for Rivercrest High School
teachers, thirteen for Bogata
Elementary School and Twelve
for Talco Elementary School.
Resignations of Mrs. Edie
Stogner, Mrs. Elma Chaloner
and Mrs. Pauline Hutson were
accepted. All three are retiring.
Resignations were also ac-
cepted from Bill Cooksey. High
School band director for the
past three years and Marion
Foster, a junior high teacher in
Bogata for three years.

Committee on Aging met
March 6th with Mrs. Vivian
Blair, Specialist on Aging of
The Texas A&M University
Extension Service, speaking on
possible projects that can be
carried out for or Dy Senior
Citizens.
The ECHO project (El-
derly Contact and Help
Organization) and a Senior
Citizens Bazaar were discussed
in detail. Mrs. DeLoyce Bean
reported on progress being
made with the ECHO project.
She stated that members of
several clubs and organizations
are making daily telephone
calls of reassurance to Senior
Citizens. She urged each
organization in Red River
County to undertake this
project. p
- A Senior Citizens Bazaar
will be conducted in May if
enough response is received
from the Senior Citizens of Red
River County. Any Senior
Citizens who would be
interested in displaying and
selling their arts, crafts, or
baked goods at a bazaar is
urged to contact the Countv
Extension Office (427-2493) and
report their interest.
Mrs. Beth Dsnnheim,
County Extension Agent stated
that the bazaar can be carried
out only if the Senior Citizens
participate and if the people of
the county give their support.
The next Committee on
Aging meeting is scheduled for
April 5th, at 10:00 a.m. in the
Extension Conference Room.
The public is invited to attend.
