thieves broke Into a large safe and
took $16T la money and a number
of checks Friday night. The safe
and contents are covered by Insur-
ance. The robbery was discovered
by employee when they went deem
to work this morning.
The money wpa taken from the
money drawee hi the safe, but the
thieves In rifling two other personal
lock boxes overlooked a puree con-
taining DS in the box of w. Lee
Watson.
Another small safe in the office
containing paper and documents,
which Is left unlocked, was also
opened. Papers from both the large
and small safe were scattered about
the office.
Tee safe breakers pulled the
combination knob from the big safe
with some kind of Iron bar, officers
working on the case state. City
police searched for finger prints
this morning, but the thieves used
gloves to do the job. it U said.
Both city and county officers
have been werking on the case.
