Bill Hoggs Move
To El Reno, Okla.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hogg,
Mike and Steve have mov-
ed to 11Q0 S. Hoff El Reno,
Okla.
Hogg has been manager
of the J. C. Penney store
here and has moved to ac-
cept a position in Pennys
store there.
In a talk with Hogg
Tusday he said that he in-
vited all of their friends
to come and see them.
They have enjoyed their
years in Paducah and
would miss all their friends,
he stated. t\
Harold Edwards, Wichita
Falls is replacing Hogg in
the store until such time as
they will close. He at pres-
ent is living at the Town-
house Courts.
Bronner Cited
In Viet Nam
SAIGON, Viet-Nam —
Distinguished achievement
in Viet-Nam has earned a
Paducah, Tex., sergeant the
U.S. Air Force Air Medal.
Staff Sergeant George W.
Bronner, son of Mrs. Jeff
A. Bronner of Paducah, re-
cently received the award
at Tan Son Nhut Airfield.
The sergeant, a C-123
flight mechanic, was speci-
ally cited for outstanding
courage and airmanship on
flights accomplished under
extremely hazardous con-
ditions.
He is a member of the
309th Air Commando Squad-
ron which flies vital airlift
and combat missions.
Sergeant Bronner attend-
ed Paducah High School.
His wife, Janet, is the
daughter of Joe M. Rivas of
6120 Montana Ave., El
Paso, Texas.

grossed $3,814.50 when O. P.
Smith, Hale Center, auc-
tioned pigs Saturday, Oct.
23.
The sale was held at
Warren Prater service hang-
er at the airport here.
Average in 135 pigs
brought 28.25. Average on
111 barrows was 27.38 and
average on 24 gilts was
32.29.
Concession stand at the
sale was operated by the
Paducah Future Farmers of
America.

Tennessee Valley
Reunion Held
II. Clege Walkup, only
son of Mrs. George Walkup
of Route 2, Kirklands, and
the late Hoyte Walkup, was
elected president of the
Tennessee Valley Homecom-
ing group at their annual
meeting in October. Both
parents were born in Ten-
nesse and came to the com-
munity before 1900.
The Tennessee Valley
community was establshed
by settlers from Tennessee
in the 1880s. The school
operated for over 50 years
and was known at its
close in 1944 as the Plea-
sant Hill School. Students
of the area were transfer-
red to Kirkland, and later
to Childress schools.
Among those present for
the re-union were six peo-
ple that attended the school
before 1900. These included
Mrs. Walkup, her sister,
Mrs. W. D. Walkup (Ester
Crabtree) of
Frank Crabtree of Fort
Worth, Ross Walkup of
Burkburnett, Mrs. Bertha
Scarbrough of Childress,
and J. L. Harbison a resi-
of the community.
J. C. Harris of Lazare was
elected vice president, and
Mrs. Harris was elected
secretary.
Walkup attended the Ten-
nessee Valley School from
1930 to 1937, and Kirkland
High School from 1937 to
1941. He is now teaching
vocational agriculture at
Azle.
The group will meet
again the first Sunday of
October in 1966 at the
Childress Fair Park.

Troop entertained the
Junior and Brownie Girl
Scouts with a “Day Late
Halloween Party” at the
Girl Scout cabin Monday
afternoon, Nov. 1.
Girls played ‘‘The Old
Witch Had a .Broom” on the
tennis court while the Cad-
ettes put the finishing
touches to the Witch’s Den.
“Witch” Diane Worley
and “Mummy” Charlene
Tiller greeted the girls at
the door. Cyndi Willingham
and Kathy Bates assisted
with games and stories.
The girls played “Pass the
Bones,” “Black Cat.”
Connie Canon escorted the
girls to the fortune teller,
“Gypsy” Betty Canon. She
told their fortunes from her
lighted Jack O’Lantern.
Each girl contributed 10c
to the fortune teller, the
money will be sent to the
Juliett Low World Friend-
ship Fund.
Cadettes served cookies,
fudge and punch from a
gaily decorated table.
Bobby Moore
Enlists In Army
Bobby Will Moore, son of
Mr. and Mrs. B. K. Moore
of Paducah, enlisted in the
army in Dallas, Nov. 4, ac-
cording to SFC Maurice A.
Wilson, US Army recruiter
for this area.
Moore is a 1965 graduate
of Dunbar High School, he
enlisted for guaranteed
duty in Europe. He was
sent To Fort Polk, La. for
basic combat training.
