and gover a wide area of Central
and West Texas, and parts of New
Mexico.
The visit to Brownwood will be
one of the last stops on the pro-
posed trip. After spiraling a night
and day at Lake Brownwood. the
boys and leaders will return to Tyler
by way of Rn-t Worth and Dallas.
Plans for a sunrise breakfast and I

will be arranged at the lake. Other ’
entertainment and activity will be
directed by the Comanche Trail
council. Boy Scouts of America, and
by the city of Brownwood.
The East Texas boys will travel

go first to Austin, and from there
to Uvalde where they will be guests
of Vlve-Presldent Gamer. Other
, West Texas points to be visited are
Langtry, the Chlaos Mountains, Fort
Davis, and McDonald Observatory.
After a visit to the Carlsbad Cavern,
the scout caravan will return to
Texas, going to San Angelo, and
from there to Brownwood State
Park. Saturday. August 27.

will be covered on the trip.
A delegation of thirty-six Brown
county Democrats was nominated
to represent the county organisa-
tion at the state convention in
Beaumont, September 13, it was
announced today by County Chair-
man Thomas H. Taylor.
The delegation will go to the state
meeting Instructed to support the
‘ Industrialization” program of W.
Lee ODanlel, party nominee for
Governor, and to give the new ad-
ministration "hearty cooperation
and support.”
From the list of men and women
selected at the county convention,
the fourteen official delegates al-
lotted to the county will be taken.

The town of Matagorda, at the
mouth of the Colorado on Matagor-
da Aay. was inundated by water two
feet deep. A dozen families were
forced from their homes, but little
further damage was expected.
Rivera was drowned yesterday
while wading in Caney creek with
a companion at Burr, five miles east
of Wharton. Rirera was unable to
swim. He stepped Into deep water.
Four persons drowned in the
Menard area nearly two week* ago
when cloudburst* struck that Cen-
tral Texas refloat. No other deaths
had been reported during the 250-
nlle sweep of the raging Colorado
to it* outlet on the Gulf Coast.
The Carrie Looney Federation,
composed of all church societies in
town, will resume regular fifth

Hasse. was dead today of shock in-
curred when an automobile struck
the truck in which she was sitting.
Mrs Rogers sat in a stalled light
truck on a highway near here last
night It had run out cf gasottnt.
Several men pushing the truck
barely leaped to safety when the
automobile crashed Into the rear
of the truck. The shock of the
collision was fatal to Mrs. Rogers
a short time later.

the coroner's records here when
Miss Frances May Parquharson, 47,
ended her life. Investigators found
that Miss PargUhanon mounted a

The coroner found her death was
due to drowning.
