Mainstreet Icehouse at

Barbecue plates with
sliced brisket, potato salad,
beans and fixings will be
offered for $8,
Food orders for delivery
will need to be placed on
Wednesday before 6 pm
to reach your location at
lunchtime on Friday.
Money raised will go
towards Haley's travels
around the country playing
with her summer league
softball team before she
moves to attend and play
softball for Ball State
University in the fall.

work with players on

ness. position work and
movement using band
resistance training.

Bayou Bowl tourney a success

The Baytown Chamber of Commerce hosted
a successful Bayou Bowl Celebrity Golf
Tournament for the ninth straight year
145 players making up 29 teams participated
in the golf tournament that was played at I agle
Pointe Golf Course in Mont Belv icu and fea-
tured celebrities of all: sorts including former
Houston Oilers Dan Pastonm and Charlie
Frazier, former boxing champion Termite
Watkins, University of I louston head football
coach Kevin Sumhn. former Houston Astro
Kevin Bass and many more
Prizes were awarded to first-third place
teams in flights one and two as well as closest
to the pin and long drive challenge w inners
The Baytown Professional Firefighters team,
made up of Mark Medrano. Lynn Caskey. Keith
Dougherty and Kris Lmerson. took first place
in flight one (53) While flight two's first place
team included Cliff McKee, Kevin Prisk.
Bennie Garcia and Jody Brown (59).
Second place in flight one went to the
Chambers County Abstract team made up of
Richard Baker. Jack Waldrop, Pat Baker. Merv
Thomas and John McGlaughlin (54) while the
Credit Union Alliance team, which included
John Riley. Adrian Dominguez and Rene
Figueroa, earned second place in flight two
(61).
The Baytown Nissan team with Stuart
Rakow, Fred Boelsen. Ed Marquarot. Don
Stone and Ed Biles picked up third place in
(light one (55) while the Waste Management
team including Mayor Wayne Riddle, Danny
Simms. Darreli Morrison. Terry Sain and Kevin
Bass claimed third place in flight two (61).
Emerson won the longest drive challenge
while Biles claimed the closest to the pin chal-
lenge amongst celebrities
Money raised from the golf tournament w il I
go tow ard youth scholarships.
Figures for the 2011 tournament were
unavailable at press time, but past tournaments
have drawn around $20,000. according to
Traces Wheeler of the Baytown Chamber of
Commerce.
A raffle and live auction following the tour-
nament drew over $4,000
"The tournament was very successful.
Everyone had a great time and the players
loved the course." said Rusty Senac. Bayou
Bowl golf tournament chairman.
