Longbotham. 96 was bom
on August 24th. 1914 in
Madison County to Jim
and Lemma Longbotham.
He graduated from high
school in Leveliand, TX,
and then attended Texas
Tech.
He worked for Dairy land
in San Antonio for three
years, then worked for
Humble Pipeline and later
transferred to Humble Oil
and Refining in Ingleside,
TX. He then volunteered
and served in the Army
Air Force during World
Warll.
He met his wife, lmogene
C ilasscock while on fttrlough
in Ingleside and they
married in 1945.
At the end of the war.
Humble Refining Company
closed down and they were
transferred to Baytown
where they have lived for
65 years. He worked for
ExxonMobil for 35 years
and then entered the real
estate business, and enjoyed
being a member of the
Lions Club until he retired
in 1985.
He was a member of
Memorial Baptist Church
where he served as a
Sunday School teacher
and Deacon. He is a lifetime
member of the Masonic
Lodge. He enjoyed working
in Cub Scouts and helped
coach the Lynchburg
Cardinals Little League
team in Highlands. He
was a duplicate bridge
enthusiast and w as always
ready for a game. He and
his wife enjoyed golfing
during their retirement and
have traveled extensively
in the US and Europe, lie
loved his family and enjoyed
the many reunions they
had
He was preceded in
death by his parents, sons:
Dr. Harold G. Longbotham
and John Longbotham.
and two brothers Ray and
Jim Longbotham.
lie is survived by his
devoted and loving wife
of 65 years, lmogene, sons:
Dr Roger Longbotham
and wife Dr. Gail
Longbotham of North
Bend, WA; Gerald
Longbotham and wife

Baytown; daughter-in-law,
Dr. Jacqueline Ackley and
