Christi. He has had previous
e x p e r i e n c e a s a m u s i c
director revivalist and
camp counselor and he plans
to do graduate work in the
future.
Here at Howard Pane he
has been active as Home
Mission Hoard summer
missionary Yellow Jacket
Sports Editor and in Life
Service Band Ministerial
Alliance. He has also been a
member of the Baptist Student
Union Youth-Led Kevival
team for approximately three
years.
Project Sonshine
starts April 27
On April 27 a r o u p
including Howard Payne
College students and some
students from Hrownwood
High School and Early High
School will be involved in a
project called "Sonshine."
In this case "Son" means
the Son of God. The students
will relate what Christ has
meant to them through
musical solos group
performances one-act skits
and art which will be
demonstrated in the foyer of
the Brownwood Coliseum.
Any member of the Howard
Payne student body or other
Brown County residents who
wish to participate should
contact Joe Stansell dorm
director at Sid Richardson
Hall.
Everyone is invited to

office of the dean of students
for class officer elections to
be held this morning
according to Mike Rice
Student Association election
chairman.
Those places to be filled

morning in class meetings.

Journalism students plan TIP A trip

Howard Payne College will
be sending delegates to the
annual Texas Intercollegiate
Press Association
Convention April fi-7 at the
Northeast Campus of Tarrant
County Junior College in Fort
Worth Texas according to
Institute dinner
set for Friday
The Institute of
Christianity dinner to be held
Friday April 0 launches a
$1.6 million capital campaign
to raise funds for the building
of a proposed new three-
building complex on the
Howard Pajne campus.
Hundreds of II PC
supporters are expected to
gather in the Brownwood
Coliseum for the $10()-a-plate
dinner which has been in the
planning stages for over a
ear.

chancellor at HPC said "We
plan no intensive capital
campaign in the citj of
Brownwood but we would
hope that our friends from
Brownwood and this area
would attend the $IOO-a-plate
dinner as their contribution
toward building this
magntficient complex on our
campus."
Dr. Newman the originator
of the plan for the new
program said the proposed
complex will include a
classroom building a chapel
building and a lfi00-seat
auditorium.
The auditorium will include
a full stage and will replace
Minis Auditorium built . in
11)20. Minis has long served
the college as a place wheie
chapel is held three da.vs a
week for all the students and
faculty and has also been
used by the Brownwood
community. The replacement
will be the largest auditorium
in the city Dr. Newman said.

In addition to the guest
speaker special workshops
designed to present new ideas
in collegiate journalism are
in the offing. The convention
also features a contest
between the different Texas
colleges and universities in
vearbnok and newspaper
categories.
