filed a federal lawsuit
seeking to overturn the
plan.
The current Precinct 2 is
roughly bounded by
Interstate 45 on the south-
west, Highway 90 on the
northwest, and the county

almost all of the Houston

life of a 72-yeanold Winnie
man and stmt down traffic

146 for eight hours.

Baytown police got a
helping hand from modem
technology this weekend
when an OnStar stolen
vehicle tracking system led
them to a stolen vehicle
and two car thieves.
The owner of the vehi-
cle, a 2011 Chevrolet
Silverado pickup, called
police to the Wal-Mart
store on Garth Road about
10 pm Saturday when he
realized that his keys and
his vehicle were missing.
He had entered the store
about 7:30 pm, he told foe
responding officers, and
whim he finished his shop-
ping went outside to find
his truck grew.
Then he called On-Star.
An On-Star customer
service representative got
on the phone with one of
the Baytown officers and
activated foe tracking serv-
ice.
“Pretty soon they had a
location on foe vehicle and
showed exactly where
somebody was driving it
around Baytown,” said
Baytown Police Lt, Erie
Freed.
