HCAD reminds of June 30 deadline <for property taxes

Taxpayers who have not paid
their delinquent 2010 taxes by
June 30 will by law then owe a
large additional penalty. What's at
stake? A tax bill that would have
been SI(X) in January if paid on
,time, has grown to SI 15 with
penalty and interest through June
and wilt grow to SI42 on July 1
However. Harris County Tax
Assessor-Collector Don Sumners
points out ways to soften the blow'.
Taxpayers can reduce their over-
all bill which will include a 20
percent plus penalty on the unpaid
delinquent amount by setting up
an installment agreement before
the June 30 deadline.
"If you arc not delinquent on any
taller year's tax. you are eligible to
sign an installment agreement with
my.office and make a partial pay-
ment.' Sumners said. "Don't wait

A restaurant that helped
make Baytown synony-
mous with good seafood
meals that don’t cost tut
arm and a leg beat demoli-
tion crews scheduled to
tear it down on Monday to

Firefighters were called
to the original Baytown
Seafood restaurant, located
at 709 West Main, at 2:43

building engulfed in
