Mrs. Oakleigh L. Thorne 30 Sutton Place New York, N.Y. Dear Mary Jean: We telephoned you yesterday morning to extend our congratula- tions and good wishes on your birthday. I hope that it was a pleasant and happy one and also hope that the airplane trip back was not made too strenuous by Danny. The house seems terribly quiet without you and him. Mother's cold is better. Last night, we went to Lena's in Houston and it resulted in a very difficult trip for me. But otherwise, the evening was a very pleasant one. I will count on your reserving rooms at the St. Regis Hotel for February first where we will arrive on the same plane at the same time that you arrived. And, I understand that you will make my Doctors' appointments and get us a few theatre tickets. Everything is moving smoothly and calmly here. I sent you a day or two ago a newspaper clipping out of the Houston Press about Will Moody III and his father's will. Thought you might be interested in reading it. Nothing more, just love from 22
