During the regular duck season, both areas will be open for hunting on
Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New
Year's Day When these holidays occur on a scheduled hunt day, the areas
will be hunted on the following Wednesday, Friday or Monday, Frels said
Hunting will be mornings only
Hunters are required to obtain a $5 permit from the check station each
day Hunters also must have a valid hunting license as well as state and
federal duck stamps, for both the teal and regular duck season hunts

AUSTIN -- The role played by hunters and fishermen in wildlife
conservation will be saluted across the nation on National Hunting and
Fishing Day Sept 26,
The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department encourages individuals and
organizations to plan special events for that day to familiarize non-
sportsmen with the sportsman's important place in the overall conservation
picture, and especially to introduce youngsters to healthful recreation
