around Marker 9; catfish good to excellent, will improve by
weekend on shad and frozen shrimp in areas where fresh water
coming in or in river where the water is running and muddy.
TEXANA: Water murky to clear, 85 degrees, 1 foot low; black bass
very good to 5 1/4 pounds on worms and buzz baits; striper slow;
crappie fair and scattered, few limits on minnows white bass
slow; catfish fairly good on live bait with trotline and dropline
in the 2-6 pound range.
WEST
ARROWHEAD: Water stained from recent rains, 74 degrees, normal
level black bass fair to 3 pounds in 5-10 feet of water on
plastic worms and spinners; stripper fair to 2 pounds on spoons
and deep running lures; crappie fair but spotty in 15-18 feet of
water on jigs and minnows; white bass fair trolling silver spoons
and top running lures catfish good to 2 1/2 pounds drifting,
minnows and stinkbait shrimp in 12-20 feet of water.
BAYLOR Water clear, 82 degrees, normal level black bass
excellent to 8 pounds, 11 ounces on black lizards, blue worms,
crawdad colored Rat-L-Traps, black topwaters crappie slow:
catfish good to excellent to 10 1/2 pounds, average about 3
pounds, and a yellow catfish to 25 1/4 pounds on crank bait
GREENBELT Water clear, 78 degrees, normal level black bass
slow; crappie good to 12 fish per string to 2 pounds each on
minnows in deep water white bass fair on jigs; catfish fair
walleye slow.
HUBBARD CREEK: Water clear, 86 degrees, 1 foot low; black bass
excellent in number but most around 13 inches on motoroil worms
and white spinners hybrid striper excellent to 6 pounds on
silver slabs crappie fairly good to 20 fish per string on
minnows; white bass good on topwaters; catfish real good to 19
pounds on cutbait or live perch.
MEREDITH: Water clear, 87 degrees, normal level black bass poor!
crappie good to 15 fish per string, many undersized on minnows;
white bass fair to 20 fish per string on white Doll Flies and
minnows, catfish good to 20 pounds on trotlines, catfish good to
4 pounds on rod and reel with chicken livers, shrimp, small
perch, water dogs and crawdads.
POSSUM KINGDOM: Water clear, 83 degrees, 13 1/2 feet low; black
bass good to 4 pounds on topwaters striper slow; crappie fair;
white bass fairly good to 30 fish per string on slabs; catfish
improving to 5 pounds on trotline with live perch, shrimp and
stinkbait.
PROCTOR: Water clearing, normal level black bass fair on
Mudbugs to 6 pounds; striper good to 10 pounds behind the dam on
topwaters crappie good to 25 fish per string on minnows
catfish good on trotlines with shrimp and shad
SPENCE: Water clear, 84 degrees, 18 feet low; black bass slow;
striper good on slabs and trolling Hellbenders and jigs to 18
pounds,; crappie good on minnows to 20 fish per string; white bass
good on slabs to 10 fish per string; catfish slow,
TWIN BUTTES Water clear, 78 degrees, 5 1/2 feet low; black bass
fairly good to 7 1/2 pounds on dark worms in 8 feet of water
striper slow: crappie fair to 10 fish per string on minnows;
white bass slow; catfish fair in 2-4 pound range on live bait
and worms.
WHITE RIVER: Water clear, 77 degrees, lake full black bass good
to 6 pounds on white spinners, crappie real good in 15 feet of
water on small minnows to 15 fish per string; white bass slow;
catfish excellent in numbers from 2-3 pounds on rod and reel and
drop lines baited with large minnows and stinkbait
