BULLDOGS OVER
LONGHORNS 6-0
The La Pryor Bulldogs snuck
by the Harper Longhorns on
Friday night at the Bulldog
Stadium. The game began at
8:00 with Harper winning the
toss. Rudy Rangel received for
the Longhorns on the 27 yard
line. After a strong defensive
effort by La Pryor, Harper was
forced to punt. On a 3rd down
play by the Bulldogs the ball
was fumbled and Joe Mosty of
Harper recovered. An inter-
ception by the Bulldogs’ Gary
White set up the scoring drive
for the Bulldogs. With 6:02 left
in the first quarter no. 46
scrambled over for the Bulldog
touchdown. The PAT attempt
was no good and the first quar-
ter ended with a score of 6-0.
The second quarter was filled
with penalties; La Pryor had
five and Harper two. Strong
defensive efforts by both sides
shorted out either side’s at-
tempt to score and the teams
went into the locker room at
halftime with La Pryor holding
the 6-0 lead.
After a half time perform-
ance by the Harper Band and
La Pryor Drill Team Harper
booted the ball to the Bulldogs.
Once again penalties on both
teams and strong defense kept
both teams from putting points
on the board. The third and
fourth quarters saw only fruit-
less attempts to score & the
game ended with La Pryor slip-
ping by Harper with the 6-0
final score.

USGLI & NSLI POLICIES
Many veterans retired from
military service and
paying premiums for U.S.
Government Life Insurance
(USGLI) or National Service
Life Insurance (NSLI) from
monthly retirement checks
may be missing annual divi-
dend checks, the Veterans Ad-
ministration reported today.
The VA insurance center at
Philadelphia reported there are
several thousand military
retirees who each month pay
insurance premiums by allot-
ment from their retired pay.
In some cases the monthly-
deduction becomes so routine
the veterans fail to notify the
VA when there is a change of
address. This is particularly
true, a spokesman said, when a
retiree’s check is sent to a
banking institution.
Annual dividends paid on
USGLI and NSLI policies often
result in some checks being
returned to the VA for lack of a
current address, the spokes-
man said.
Military retirees paying their,
GI insurance premiums by'
allotment should send changes
of address, with policy number
to the Veterans Administration
Center, P.O. Box 8079, Phila-
delphia, Pa. 19101.
