Our community was sad-
dened when the sad news ar-
rived Friday morning that Alois
long illness. He had been our
County Commissioner until this
new deal came up. His friend-
liness will always be remem-
bered by the Doss people. Many
friends attended his funeral.
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Sauer
and sons of Fredericksburg
spent the weekend with his
mother, Mrs. E. H. Sauer and
family.
Mr. and Mrs. Elton Faught
and son of San Saba visited his
parents, the Alanzo Faughts
and attended church services
Sunday.
Had various reports on the
rainfall here Saturday or rather
early Sunday morning — from
.50 up to 1.10 inch. There was
some hail and lots of lightning
and high wind that did some
damage, mostly to TV an-
tennas. Something odd about
this storm. As a rule we have
hail or any other storm come in
from the northwest, north and
northeast.
But these last two that hit
Doss some weeks ago and last
week’s came from the south-
west — all the way from Del Rio
— watched by weathermen.
Talking with friends, that baby
started several weeks ago and
dipped down on several places,
but luckily in the pasture, pulled
up trees, broke off limbs, went
up, came down, back up and
over Harper, let’s say ten miles
East, and then dipped down on
the Mrs. E. H. Sauer ranch, five
miles southwest of Doss for
quite some distance. It broke
trees and limbs, went up for
several miles, then dipped back
