TRAPPED
Many people in the U.S.
believe that Russia and
Communism are thousands
of miles from the good old
U.S.A. But are they really so
far away? After reading the
following article I think that
you will agree that the U.S.
is falling into the very trap
that the Communists want
us in.
CURRENT
COMMUNIST GOALS
The 45 “Current Commu-
nist Goals” listed below ap-
peared in the Congressional
Record of January 10, 1963.
They were taken from the
“Naked Communist” by W.
Clean Skousen, who began
his extensive study of com-
munism during his sixteen
year term of service with
the Federal Bureau of
Investigation. Mr. Skousen
is now field director of the
American Security Council.
1. U.S. acceptance of co-
existence as the only alter-
native to atomic war.
2. U.S. willingness to
capitulate in preference to
engaging in atomic war.
3. Develop an illusion that
total disarmament by the
U.S. would be a demonstra-
tion of moral strength.
4. Permit free trade be-
tween all nations regardless
of communist affiliation and
regardless of whether or not
items could be used for war.
5. Extension of long-term
loans to Russua and Soviet
Satellites.
6. Provide American aid
to all nations regardless of
communist domination.
7. Grant recognition of
Red China. Admission of
Red China to the UN.
8. Set up East and West
Germany as separate states.
9. Prolong the conferences
to ban atomic tests.
10. Allow all Soviet satel-
lites individual represen-
tatives in the UN.
11. Promote the UN as the
only hope for mankind.
12. Resist any attempt to
outlaw the Communist
Party.

If you, too, are shocked at
these statements, remember
they are RECORDED in
THE UNITED STATES
CONGRESSIONAL REC-
ORD.
Quite a few of these goals
hit home, don’t they? What
re we, the United States,
going to do about them? Are
we just going to sit back and
close our eyes? IF nothing
else, it is something to think
about!
LETTER TO THE EDITOR

Dear Mr. Dietel:
Enclosed is a check for
three years subscription to
The Harper Herald.
I have been checking the
paper for property on which
I could put a mobile home.
I have two more years to
work at Rockwell Inter-
national and then I plan on
retiring with my family. We
are Baptists so will be
moving our membership to
a Baptist Church and invite
the pastor for dinner as soon
as we move.
Sincerely,

Mr. Paul Lang
P.O. Box 116
Harper, Texas 78631
Dear Mr. Lang:
In the February 22 edition
of the Herald there is men-
tion of a book “Here’s Har-
per.” May I please be
placed on the list of those
who would like very much to
own a copy? I would gladly
pay up to $25.00 for a copy in
fine shape.
My family (Chester and
Jean Hudson) lived in Har-
per from 1931-1938. Indeed,
when things got particularly
bad for us we lived in the
back of a store building just
west of Rahe’s Store, a
building which had once
housed the Herald, but
which by then was used
mainly to store wool and
mohair.
Although we suffered as
much as most from the De-
pression, I was only there
from age 5-12, so I have
nothing but the fondest
memories of that segment of
my childhood. As a matter
of fact the nostalgia in-
creases as the years go by,
perhaps enhanced by my
faithful reading of the Her-
eald.
Best wishes,
Robert P. Hudson, M.D.

The JCPenney catalog Your telephone UPS home delivery UPS® is a registered service mark of United Parcel Service.
Catalog shopping has never been easier.
With the convenience of United Parcel Service home delivery, your catalog order is now as close as your
telephone and your doorbell.
How does home delivery work?
Like clockwork. You phone in your order to your nearest JC Penny catalog department. Tell us where you’d
like it delivered:your home, your place of work., a neighbor’s house. We’ll even send it out of town, if you
like.
Then you give us your JCPervny charge number. (If you don’t have an account with us, you’ll have to
come into the store to pre-pay your order. But you can still have it delivered.) In a short time your order
will arrive via UPS.
Is UPS home delivery expensive?
We think you’ll find the rates very reasonable. And just think what you’ll save on gas!
How long will you have to wait for UPS?
Usually, no more than a day or two longer than if you were to pick up the order yourself—and sometimes
not even that long.
Suppose you're out when the UPS delivery truck arrives? No problem. The driver will leave a number for
you to call and tell them the most convenient time to re-deliver. UPS will make three delivery attempts
before returning your order to us
Can everything you order be delivered by UPS? Most, but not all. Some larger, heavier items are mailed,
and few are shipped by local trucking companies.
Can you still pick up at the Penny catalog department? Certainly. Just tell us when you place your order.
Picking up your order is still the quickest and least expensive way to get it. And many people find
they combine their catalog 'pick-up' with some pleasant shopping in the store. ,
