5,000 Rattlers
Killed On Bounty
SAN ANGELO, Texas.—Snakes,
nearly 5,000 of them, are a profit-
able source of income for Dee and
Nelson Basham of Colorado.
Offered a bounty of 10c each for
killing rattlesnakes on the Spade
ranch, these 'partners have realized
nearly $500 from their slaughter
during the last fourteen months,
and are believed to have set a re-
cord for snake killing.
Most of the rattlers were fished
•ut of cliffs and their head* cut
>ff with a hoe.
