Girl Scouts learn first aid skills
Harper’s Junior Girl
Scouts are currently
working on First Aid with
the help of leaders, Royce
Ann Baethge and Cindy
Leinweber and CPR
Certified Nurse, Pat
Prather.
A unique brand of
baseball for youngsters,
called T-Ball is once again
about to start for the
season. Sponsored by the
Fredericskhurg Optimist
Club, the Harper team is
open to all youngsters who
were at least six years of
age by September 1, 1986
and will be not over nine
Mrs. Prather has been
showing the girls the
Heimlich Maneuver for
conscious and unconscious
patients ( adult and child)
on Resusci Anne, a specially
designed, life-size doll
belonging to the Harper
years of age by August 31,
1987.
Registration in Harper
will be at Dauna’s store on
March 28th from 10 a.m. till
noon. Parents are asked to
bring their boys’ and girls’
birth certificates with them
to registration.

Scouts taking part in the
training include: Mary
Prather, Valerie Brondo,
Annette Baethge, Jennifer
Gross, Audrey Leinweber,
Nicki Harper and Natalie
Whitewood, and mascot,
Aaron Baethge.
Mrs. Prather said she
will be giving a special CPR
class to the Garza family on
Tuesday and Wednesday of
this coming week; adding
that she is willing to give
instruction to any
interested group and that
they can contact her in
Harper.
The Harper Brownie
Troop is currently learning
a dance exercise program
which they presented to
gauests last week and will
be presenting to the Junior
Girl Scouts next week. The
Brownie Troop leaders are
Royce Ann Baethge and
Maureen Platzner.
T-Ball underway
for 1987 season
Paper early next week
The Harper Herald will
hit the streets on Thursday
next week and Editor
Karen Smith will be in
Harper a day early, on
Monday to pick up news and
ads.
Anyone with news to
report should call the
Herald office in
Fredericksburg before that
time or be sun; their stories
are at the pick-up points.

Dorothy Metzger had
Lawrence Metzger and
Bonnie Dismond from
Austin this weekend.
Bonnie also visited with
Jake and Patsy Metzger an-
-dd with Dauna Bierschwale,
a classmate.
Mr. and Mrs. Langfor 1
Metzger and Lauren, and
Becky Seneff and daughter,
all of San Marcos, were
visiting with Dorothy
Metzger earlier this week.
The women folk went cam-
ping one night as a girl
scout project.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert
kensing were here during
the week visiting Mrs.
Eddie Kensing and Estella
Whitworth.
Mr. and Mrs. Albert
Whetsone were here from
Midland, seeing friends and
relatives. They decided to
keep up with folks better by
subscribing to the Harper
Herald.
The Presbyterian
Women met at the Manse
Thursday afternoon with
Frances Floyd as hostess.
Margaret Stevens had the
program.
Jackie Green of Las
Vegas spent a few days
visiting with Mr. and Mrs.
Robert Miller, and with her
cousin Sue Ann Miller. She
like the sights in this area.
Visiting with Mr. and
Mrs. John Molder were
Homer Molder from Salt
lake City, Alice Culpepper
and girls from Arizona,
hattie and Joe Wheatley
from Seguin, and Walter
Molder from New
Braunfels.
Mr. and Mrs. Marvin
Dietz of Round Rock are
spending some time on their
ranch on Parker Road, and

Mr. and Mrs. Chester
Tatsch celebrated their
Golden Wedding
Anniversary Sunday, March
15 at the Harper
Community Hall. A mass
was held at 11 a.m. at St.
Anthony’s Catholic Church
in Harper with a meal
following and a dance.
While at the church, the
Tatsch’s reaffirmed their
wedding vows with Rev.
A.A. Gitter officiating.
Rev. Gitter had performed
their original ceremony 50
years ago in Harper.
Original attendants to the-r
Tatsch’s wedding also
attended the anniversary
vows. They are Emil A.
Tatsch, Leola Kramer and
Roman Klein. The other
attendant at the wedding,
Pear lie Feller is deceased.
A three tiered cake was
prepared for the festivities
by Dortha Fae Staudt and
was a mixture of chocolate
and white cakes. The top

Howard Walker journeyed
to San Antonio to visit with
Mr. and Mrs. Wayne
Barrett. Dr. James C.
Walker came from Corpus
to complete the family get
together.

from Tuccumcari, N.
Mexico and Mr. and Mrs.
Edwin Jones from Hawler
have been her visiting
Curtis Richardson who lives
on Michael Dr. Curtis
checked into the VA at
Kerrville on Monday.
C.S. Mincy has been un-
dergoing treatment at the
VA Medical Center for a
couple of weeks.
Mae Delorey spent the
week in the Fredericksburg
hospital, and Opal Harper
was in Peterson’s at
Kerrville over the weekend.

from O’Donnell spent part
of Connie’s spring break
with her grandparents , Mr.
and Mrs. Milton Cosper.
Emily Campbell from
Phoenix has been visiting
her schoolmate, Jane Bailey
this week.
Shirlene and Richard
Cowie of Fort Worth spent
spring break with Eliz Rahe
and at the ranch.
Gloria and Garland
Newton of Kriston Lajje
became proud grandparents
on March 10 of Jade
Lyndsey Johnston, born in
Corpus to Elbert and Emily
Johnston of Alice. The
baby weighed 7 lbs 7 oz and
measured 20 inches.

Kerrville to, visit Mr. and
Mrs L.L. Bonner, who used
to live at River Front, and
to eat at Here’s Harper.
