champion St. Michaels last
Tuesday, November 27,
where Uano fell, 66-48.
"St Michaels is a very good
team and tiny are a good test
for us at this point,* said
Head Caoch Jaquetta
Brawn. “Our team played
extremely hard and com-
peted very well.”
Llano shot 78 percent from
the free throw line as Sanya
West scored 19 points, Jackie
Froehner scored 11, Vkenta
Gonzales 10, Micah Milliorn
five and Michelle Choate

Wells and Reed each scored

Thursday, the Lady Jack-
ets traveled to Del Valle for
a tournament that put them
to the test
The first game was against
4-A Pflugerville Connelly,
with -Llano winning, 63-80.
West staged a shooting clinic
as Milliorn and Gonzales
feeding West to score 28
points.
“Connelly was very ath-
letic and quick,” said Brown.
“We took them out of their
fast-paced style and pro-
duced a win with patience
andhard work."
Llano kept the game flow-
ing to the inside as Froehner
scored 10 and Milliorn added
nine.
Friday, in a low scoring af-
fair, Llano fell to state
ranked, 4-A Corpus Christi
Calallen, 38-33.
“I think a 12th ranked, tra-
dition strang Calallen had us
a little intimadated at the
beginning but our bench
came in and give us some
great effort and almost
pulled out a win for us,” said
Brown.
Llano was down, 22-16 at
intermission and trailed 10
after three periods. But, a
storng fourth quarter that
saw the Lady Jpekets
outscore Calallen 11-6 cre-
ated excitement.
West finished with, 21
points as the only Llano
player in double figures.
Saturday, she poured in 81
to lead Llano bait Austin
High, 62-49.
"Our defense and fast
break was very good in the
first half and we dominated
the game,” said Brown.
Llano led by 11 at the half.
Finally, the Lady J's pulled
off a 40-31 win over state
ranked, Smithville behind a
12-point performance from
Froehner.
“Smithville is ranked and
should be at the regional
tournament against this
year,” commented Brown.
“The defense tried to triple
West and she was able to
dish the ball to others."

JV Girls' basketball record stands at 3-2 after tournament
The Llano JV girls' basketball
team defeated Goldthwaite by a
score of 42-21 on Tuesday, No-
vember 13. .
Sara Price was high scorer for
the game with 13 points.
Dannielle Drewry scored 10
points, followed by Eidi Aviles
and Amber Francis each scaring
five points. Hillary Mikulenka
scored three points and Kelli
Edwards, Ashley Leifeste, and
Nikole Brigner each scored two.
During the Marble Falls tour-
nament held November I $
through November 17. the team
lost a close battle to '
Fredericksburg 32-29.
Drewry and Jessica Napolez
each scored six points in that
game. Mikulenka, Francis, and
Tiffany Kaspar scored four points
each, while Sara Price scored
three points and Brigner scored
two.
The team also faced Austin
Crockett during the tournament
and won 53-28.
Krystal Brochert and Drewry
each scored eight points against
Austin Crockett. Mikulenka
scored seven points. Napolez and
Price scored six each, Aviles.

points. Napolez scored seven,
Drewry scored six. Price scored
five, Brigner scored three, and
Brockcrt scored two points.
Llano won in a matchup held
in Uano against St. Michaels on
Tuesday, November 27. by a
score of 43-11.
Francis scored 12 points while
Drewry scored seven. Aviles,
Mikulenka, and Napolez each
scored four, while Kaspar scored
three. Brochery and Brigner each
scored two points.
The JV girls' record stands at
three wins and two losses.
