students
contribute
As per the President’s chal-
lenge to American children in his
address to the United States re-
garding the war on terrorism, fac-
ulty and students at Llano El-
ementary began a fundraising
drive to collect money to send to
the Afghan Children’s Fund.
First grade teacher Laura Kay
Barker was instrumental in initi-
ating the drive, which was facili-
tates by Myrna Mund, Ralph
Combest, Harriet Myrick and
Nita Fields.
A total of $258.26 was col-
lected. As each child made his
donation, he signed the banner
that read: “United We Stand.”
The funds and banner have been
mailed to President Bush.

in Houston
Care Inn of Llano won eight
awards given-by Mariner Poet
Acute Network on November 13
in Houston at the Taxes Health
Care Association annual meeting.
