James Grote, manager of Gran-

the nation, on January 29.
The election was held during
the association’s annual banquet
and membership meeting in the
Crystal Ballroom of the Hotel
Texas in Fort Worth, attended by
about 275 Hereford breeders and
enthusiasts.
Lee Campbell, who lives in Mid-
land and randies at Dublin and
Kermit, was elected president of
the association to succeed H. A.
Fitzhugh of San Antonio.
Among the 19 directors elected
were John E. Eckert of Mason and
Harold H. Henke bf Fredericks-
burg.

Judge McWilliams
Brother’s Rites Held
Clayton McWilliams of Martin
Midis in Van Zandt County, 63-
year old brother of Llano County
Judge R. P. McWilliams, died
Wednesday, Jan. 24. He had been
in poor health for some years.
Funeral services. were held Fri-
day at Canton with burial at Holly
Springs in Van Zandt County.
Survivors include his wife and
two brothers, Dan McWilliams of
Athens and R. P. McWilliams of
Llano; and five nieces and neph-
