2010 after a v aliant fight w ith
cancer Elaine was bom in
Las Cruces. N M on August
29, 1952 to Leon and Lancta
Hart Elaine lived most ofher
adolescent life in East Texas
and graduated from East
Texas State University
Elaine was a devout educator
and began her career
teaching foreign languages
throughout schools in East
Texas
In the early 1990 s Elaine
moved to the Hill Country to
teach at Llano IS D When
her son left for college.
Elaine returned to her roots
in East Texas, continued her
education and received hot'
Master's Degree from the
University of Texas at Tyler
After receiving her graduate
degree. Elaine became a
diagnostician for Edge wood
I S.D., until she retired in
August of this year. In
addition to teaching. Elaine
was a well known debate
coach and led many teams to
State Championships
Elaine's passion was her
work and family but she also
enjoyed caring for her home
and garden
Elaine was preceded in
death by her parents and her
brother. Robert Hart and
beloved Labrador, Prissy
She is survived by her son.
Micah Dortch and his wife.
Joy. of Fnsco. sister. Janice
Coke and her husband.
Crawford, of Longview,
nephew. Casey Coke and his
wife, Kelly and great-
nephew Cameron, of
Lewisville, two four legged
fnends Sugar and Lilly, and

Judging will be at 5:00 p.m with Costume Judging at 5:30
p m Booths w ill open at 6:(K) p m In the event of inclement
weather, the festivities will be moved to the Fire Hall
Remember that Super Saturday in in down tow n Cherokee
on October 23. Come spend the day in our little Village
Doug and Cyndi Suggs spent the weekend in Atlanta.
Georgia to attend Doug's nieces wedding Doug performed
the ceremony They also got to spend time with family
Doug's other niece had her baby there and i{ was the first
time they Had seen him
Danny and Janiccc Duggan are back home after visiting
with their son. Jcrrod and his family in Wy oming
May belle Ray spent a few days in the Austin Heart
Hospital She is home and is doing good Daughter. Joyce
Capps from Lampasas has been visiting with Maybclle and
