Last week Mas a ven

though I had only a limited
part in the special Armed
Forces insert. I was proud to
have it in the paper, and I was
proud to see that others
enjoyed "it. too Thanks so
much to Tommi Myers for
supplying the information1
(and to Scott Wcsner for
putting it all together’)
While the Aimed Forces
Dav Rally was forced inside
(into the Lantcx Theater) b\
rain, it was still a wonderful
event, and I saw that most of
the people there had one of
our inserts Teacher Tina
Foxworth had even made a
poster out of the pictures
from her copy, and one of her
students was holding it up
' during the rallv
In addition to that insert’
several of the stones I had
written gem;rated a \cr\
positive response so I was
reallv feeling good about mv
job until I realized how far I
had fallen behind on the
summer issue of mv Texas
Hill Country magazine
Except for a couple of events
that I had already promised
to attend I spent all weekend
putting the finishing touches
on magazine stones, them's
still a chance that I'll have
the summer issue to the
printers by next Monda>
morning (look for magazines
the first or second week of
June)
You'll notice that more
and more of the stones in the
magazine arc from nght here
in l.lano (or at least l.lano

keep on hearing so manv
fascinating stones here I was

of his amazing story before,

I've found another great

There's a lot of good things
happening in Llano
That's not to say that
everything is exactly as it
should be. from what I hear,
there will be some bad news
in the paper again this week,
and there arc quite a few
people still upset with school
sy stem (despite the good test
scores) The issue that hits
closest to home for me is the.
uncertain future of the Fuel
Coffee House, which has
been a tremendous blessing
to me during my time here in
Llano There is a sizable
group of "friends' who are
working to save Fuel, and
Cm starting to feel a little
more optimistic about its
chances, but this is a great
time for those whose lives
have been brightened bv this
very special place to donate.

serve the public as school
board trustees A long-term
focus is rare in government,
but this community is blessed
to have that sensibility not
only at Llano ISD. but also
in local and county
government
Dennis Hill and Tim

My work with
administrators and stafT at

puts its students first and
wants to prepare each child
to succeed in life after
graduation I believe that
l.lano ISD docs its best for
all students under the
circumstances
