Highlighting the holiday sea-
son for club members'and
guests, was the annual Christ-
mas Ball, held Dec. 7 at the
Ramblin' Rose. Hosted by club
members, Mrs. Marc Miller
was the chairman, guests en-
joyed dancing with music by
Wink Tyler and band, In addi-
tion to a lovely buffet table,
filled with plenty of smoked
turkey and ham, dips, chips and
homemade bread.
Theme of the event was a
Snowflake Ball, and this was
carried out beautifully as snow-
flakes sparkled from the cell-
ing.

Dedicate School
Dr. T.D. Thnksley, former
Llano County Agriculture A-
gent, will dedicate the new Ber-
tram Elementary School Sun-
day, Jhn. 27, at 2 p.m.
Dr. Thnksley, a native of
Bertram, Is a professor In the
Department of Agriculture at
Texas A AM, In charge of swine.

Assembly of the Rainbow In an
open Installation held Saturday
night at the Masonic Temple.

the bride of Jimmy J. McCoy,
son of Mrs. W.R, Fuller and J.
McCoy of Ennis, In a wedding
held at Lampasas on Dec. 22,
In the home of the bride’s aunt.

The bride, given In marriage
by her uncle, John Cook, wore
a street-length princess style
dress of white velvet fashioned
with leg-of-mutton sleeves and
accented with lace at the neck
and wrists. Her fingertip man-
tilla was also edged In lace.
She carried a cascade of yel-
low roses and white carnations,
centered with an orchid.
Mrs. David Edwards of Tern- v
pie, Florida, the former Miss
Lynn Beaty of Klngsland, was
matron of honor. Mrs. Dewey
Bates of Stephenvllle and Miss
Cynthia Fuller of Ennis, sis-
ter of the bridegroom, were
bridesmaids. They wore
dresses of green velvet, styled
similar to that of the bride,
and each carried a yellow rose.
David Cook of Stephenvllle
served as best man; Gary Chat-
ham of Irving and William
Call of Llano, brother of the
bride, served as groomsmen.
The house party Included
Mmes. Gary Grounds, William
Tidwell, John Earnest of Lam-
pasas, Mrs. Glenn Knypenberg-

which was beautifully decorated
in holiday tradition.

Stephenvllle where the groom Is
an assistant professor In the
Department of Math and Physics

berette cagers beat Marble
Falls In an exlcltlng game at
Llano Thursday with an 18-15
score. • ■
Lynda Lange scored two bas-
kets In the first quarter with
Kathy King adding one leaving
a 6-2 score with the Llanoans
ahead.
Kathy King made another has-
ket and scored two points at
the free-throw line In the se-
cond quarter which ended Llano
12, Marble Falls 10.
In the fourth quarter, Lu-
cretla Timer and Kathy King
each scored a basket and com-
pleted one free throw for aJ
final score of Llano 18, Mar-
ble Falls 15.
The win was the result of the
efforts of the team forwards:
Lucretla Turner, Melinda
Shipp, Lynda Lange, Kelgh In-
gram, Kathy King and Janet

For a few days last week a
newcomer to Texas would have
thought we were In the midst
of spring. And the fruit trees
almost had the same Idea, with
the mild, damp, foggy weather
we experienced. Not withstand-
ing the flu bug Is still on the
rampage. Neighbors have been
quite 111, its in our abode again
and I saw evidence of Its In-
vasion as far as Kerrvllle.
Now for the brighter side.
Mr. aqd Mrs. Willie Fiedler
have started their new home
and we shall watch with en-
thusiastic interest as the work
proceeds.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lang
and Mr. and Mrs. James Toep-
plch hosted a covered dish sup-
per when the Community Club
met Saturday night. Volley ball
playing was the main entertain-
ment, tho some of the less ac-
tive (physically that Is) played

We are glad Mrs. F.J. Evers
has recuperated to the extent
she can now be at her own
home as of last weekend.
Miss Jamie Sue Banner was
home with her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. James Banner, fromAAM
University last weekend.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lang
and Jan were In Winters to visit
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Al-
fed Wessles Friday afternoon.

a 4.23 grade average at Texas
AAM for the fall semester with
a grade of "A" In each of six

He Is A sophomore majoring
In animal science. Earlier this
month he took the entrance
examination for the AAM Vet-
erinarian school and has been
working during the mid-year
holidays for Dr. J.P. Dodgen.
