Styled G. R. Levisay, W. L. Ferrill and J.
B. Cunningham et al vs the Comanche Inde-
pendent School District et al, the plaintiffs plea
questions the validity of the school tax plan
as recently set up through a Board of Equaliza-
tion. Tlje plaintiffs contend the board failed to
carry oift complete equalization and that inequal-
ities exist in that all personal property was not
assessed.
Representing the 21 persons named in the
suit against the school district, are Attorney*
L. B. Slage and WilliAm Bell of Brownwood, and
W. L. Ferrill, Comanche County. The school dist-
rict Attorney, is C. O. McMillan of Stephenville.
The school tax structure as set up-for the
197Q.rolls represents a figure of $12,954,000 val-
idation as compared to $9,500,000 the year before.
The rendition raise, school officials declare, is
necessary to meet the expenses of a growing
system, inflation and new state leglslat
