monstration Clubs had their An-
nual Achievement Day, Thurs-
day, October 9, at the Sinton
Farm Labor Center.
(Mrs V. C. Hapner, Mathis
Council Chairman, called the
meeting to order, Mrs. John Roz-
ypal, St. Paul, Council Exhibit
Chairman ,led the group singing
of “Beautiful Texas”, District 12
T. H. D. A. song. Mrs. Paul Wil-
liams, Taft, was accompanist.
Mis. L. R. Standlee, Taft gave
the invocation, Mrs. John Rozy-
pal, led *in the pledge to the
flag. *
Mathis Club was hostess club,
75 people registered.'
Miss Louisee Newman, Jim
Wells County Dem. Agent, was
commentator for the Style Show.
Home Demonstration Women mo-
deled garments they had made.
The following were models for

modeled a red nylon dress acces-
sorized with black and white.
Mrs. Lee Rankin, Sinton, mo-
deled a dressy black crinkle ny-
lon accesorrized with red velvet.
Mrs. T. W. Dickens, Aransas
Pass, modeled a changeable silk
organdy evening gown of purple.
Taft H.D. Club won the blue
award for scrap books, Odem
H. D. Club won the red award,
and Portland H. D. Club won the
white award.
Scrap books and educational
exhibits were judged by Miss
Newman, Jim Wells County H.D.
Agent and Miss Haz;el Baze-
more, Asst. County H.D. Agent,
Nueces County. /
Odem H. D. Club won the blue
award on their educational ex-
hibit. They exhibited household
cleaning supplies and equipment
to make house cleaning easy.
Inglside H. D. Club won red
award on their exhibit of flower
arrangements for every occasion.
The flowers and arrangements
were lovely and the flowers were
home grown. Fruits in the fruit
arrangement were the only things
bought and the fruit was to be
eaten.
Sinton H. D. Club won white
award on exhibiting proper place
settings for different types of
meals.
Rransas Pass H. D. Club had
an educational exhibit on pic-
ture framing; Mathis H. D. Club
exhibited crocheted eccessories
for wearing apparel and for the

hibited proper equipment for pre-
paring and serving roasts; St.
Paul H. D. Club exhibited the
home first aid kit and supplies
needed in the home first aid kit;
Taft H. D. Club exhibited the
steps and supplies needed ii^
Corsage making. Each education-
al exhibit represented one demon-
stration the women had this
year. In additional to the educa-
tional \ exhibits there were ex-
hibits of handiwork, corsages pic-
ture frames, rugs and upholstered
chairs that members had worked
on during the year.
In the canned food division
there were 140 entries. Judges
were: Mrs. H. D. Schultze, and
Mrs. Frank Sims, Odem; Mrs.
J. H. Northam, Ingleside; Mrs.
Wm. Dittman, Sinton; Mrs. Roy
Lee, Portland; Mrs. W. G. Henry,
Aransas Pass; Mrs. J. A. Mea-
dow, Ode mand Mrs. Guy Bige-
low, Aransas Pass were superin-
tendents of the canned food div-
ision.
