McMurry Readies for Commencement
Fill Last Days
McMurry College students now
in the midst of pro-exam "Dead
Week" are casting a wistful eye
to May 20 when final examina-
tions will officially come to a
close thus ending the school year
for undergrads
Test week will get underway
Monday May 21 at 8 00 a m
Exam schedules are posted and
copies are available from the
Dean's office
Mr. Btuco (Casey) Jones an-
nounces that the College Cafe-
teria will have a charcoal steak
supper Friday evening. May 16.
The steaks will be Kansas City
cuts and will be served at the
cafeteria beginning soon after
5.00 p. m.
Students who wish to stay at
school after the Spring term can
. attend Summer session at the
i College beginning June 4 An Art
Workshop is scheduled to con-
vene on campus May 28 Other
summer activities at McMurry in-
clude Elementary Education
Workshops Methodist Youth
Assemly a Missions School and
Band School

The McMurry Ministerial For-

wards will be a junior in the fall
and is a history major
Lyndall Fletcher Muleshoe
was chosen vice-president He
will be a senior in the fall

MUSIC FROM TH EMASTERS will be the highlight of the concert season for the McMurry College
Band as they present their annual graduation concert in Radford Memorial Auditorium Friday night.
The concert band will be directed by Dr. Raymond Bynum.

Graduation Concert
A public presentation of all-
new "music of the masters" will
be featured (by the 53-member
McMurry College Band in its
graduation concert Friday May
18 at 8 00 P M in Radford Aud-
itorium Dr Raymond T Bynum con-
ductor sai dthat the newness of
the selections would enable the
students to play with ' freshness
and enthusiasm ' He said that the
graduation concert will have no
music which was played on tour
with the exception of the alma

The Baccalaureate service will
be held in Radford Auditorium

Stewart of Carlsbad New Mexico
will deliver the sermon He was
appointed District Superintendent
of the Methodist Churches in the
Carlsbad District in 1959 Rev.
Stewart is a graduate of the Uni
versity of Edinburg Scotland
Garrett Biblical Institute and
Highlands University He is to be
awarded an honorary Doctor of
Divinity degrc e from the College
during commencement exercises
Mrs J M Willson of Floydada
is also to receive an honorary
doctorate

Dr Joseph Griggs is executive
director of the Texas Foundation
He has held many important
positions in Texas educational
circles and received his B A and
M A from Texas Tech He holds
a Doctor of Education degree
from the University of Texas
Candidates for degrees number

A reception honoring seniors
and their parents will be held
immediately after the Baccalaur-

Miss Donna Barke a McMurry
College junior from Albuquerque
N M has been selected as a
youth delegate of the Women's
Society of Christian Service New
Mexico Conferenee to attend a
3-day assembly of the Society in
Atlantic City New Jersey this
week
The assembly held every four
years will be attended by dele-
gates from Methodist conferences
throughout the nation It begins
Tuesday the 15th and continues
through the 19th
Missionaries from throughout
the world will also attend the
assembly and will give personal
eounsel to youth interested in
missionary work
Mueh of the time will be taken
up with studies of international
relationships aecording to Miss
Burke
